CC&V Volunteer Program The CC&V Volunteer Program was established in 1998 with a two fold purpose. The program encourages CC&V employees to make a contribution to the community by volunteering. CC&V volunteers then, in turn, increase the visibility and goodwill for the company in the area where we live and work. Employees are encouraged to volunteer for community groups and governmental organizations. Examples of community groups include: Boy and Girl Scouts, Little League baseball, volunteer fire departments, community festivals, museums, and service groups. Community volunteers earn 1 hour of paid time off for every 3 hours spent volunteering. Governmental volunteers serving, for example, on the City Council or Planning Commission, earn 1 hour of paid time off for every 2 hours spent volunteering. The success of the volunteer program is shown in the positive results in the community. The volunteer time is greatly appreciated by the many civic organizations that benefit from the time spent by employees, and employees have the opportunity to talk about the operation and be proud of the responsible work that is accomplished here. Employees may earn up to 40 hours of paid time off in a year. Those who volunteer over the 120 hours (or 80 hours for governmental work) are entered in a drawing at the end of the year. The lucky volunteer wins cash to be used for a vacation. In 2005 CC&V volunteers contributed 2,500 hours to the community.
