The direct employment by CC&V averages nearly 300 employees.  This places CC&V among the largest private employers in Teller County.  Average annual salary and benefit package is over $63,000, and annual payroll is about $17 million.

CC&V's employment opportunities generally fall within six major professional categories: geology, engineering and surveying, mechanical equipment operation and maintenance, mineral beneficiation operations and maintenance, laboratory analyses, and metallurgy.  In addition, many staff professionals provide technical expertise in health and safety, environmental sciences, human resources, finance and accounting, community affairs, and administration.  Operating positions include blasting professionals, operators for truck, shovels, loaders, dozers, graders, drills, crusher, and the beneficiation plant.  Maintenance of equipment and facilities requires mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation professionals in both the mine and the beneficiation areas.

Studies show that for every mining position created, approximately 2.4 additional jobs are supported in the Teller County and 5.8 additional jobs are supported statewide. Periodically, additional contract employees conduct construction work for CC&V.
